We are a new UK based start up that specialises in cultural toys for kids. Our team is made up of two young families with children ranging between 2 – 7 years of age.
We are based in one of the most diverse cities in the UK – Leicester, located in the East Midlands.
In our adulthood journey, we discovered that religion has been a fundamental part of our lives. It has given us hope, encouragement, strength, belief and guidance on how we should live our lives and be good people.
We started this business because we wanted to educate our children about our faith and God, but given how complex it is to explain to a child, we started searching for toys that would help them engage in a fun way. We came across amazing books and also a limited offering of toys. However, to our surprise, we found it to be a very small offering.
We were specifically looking for soft toys that our children could hold, cuddle and play with but found that such toys were only found in other parts of the world. This is when we realised there was a gap in the market and we felt passionate towards covering this niche.
We’ve always wanted to start a purposeful business or do something that impacts society in a meaningful way. We therefore went through the process of creating products with careful design considerations. It is difficult portraying God / Deities and Guru’s in a way that appeals to Children which made the design process an extremely difficult task. Each and every one of our products went through several refinements before approving final designs.
We accept that not everyone will agree that toys should be the way to teach children about religion but we believe it is a way which we refer to as ‘the God Toys way’. We want to give the society purposeful products that contributes in ones spiritual journey. We are driven by the happiness and smiles our products bring to children, and the education it leads them onto.
It takes a long time to design and create such products and we have therefore started with the Religion we know best. We would love to speak to people of other faiths / background to help us create purposeful toys that makes teaching all Religions fun. We welcome collaboration opportunities and would love to hear from like minded individuals.
